A new mindset for better soft tissue management around implants

“The Soft Tissue Around Dental Implants course was really good. I would recommend it to other clinicians looking to improve their implant outcomes.”

Dr Douglas Watt from Euston Place Dental Practice in Warwickshire comments on the Soft Tissue Around Dental Implants course he recently attended with BPI Dental Education & Training. He continues:

“An increasing number of soft tissue problems have become apparent with regards to implants, and I wanted to advance my knowledge on how to manage potential complications. More specifically, I wished to learn how to optimise keratinised tissue around implants for greater soft tissue attachment. This course ticked all the boxes in terms of what I was looking for. I have also known Dr Boota Ubhi for some time so I was confident in his experience and skills.

“The programme was really good, covering a lot of relevant material. A good portion was hands-on, so there was a great balance of practical and theory as well. Not too many procedures were discussed so as to make it inaccessible, but there was plenty to learn and take back to practice. Boota was a great teacher and very approachable. I certainly achieved what I set out to do. An added bonus, the food was fantastic too!

“Since the training, on-going support has been available in the form of a dedicated WhatsApp group. We are able to post cases and ask questions. It’s also interesting to discuss other people’s cases and see what they’re doing.

“In practice, I’m looking at things in a different way, pre-planning with new techniques and thinking about managing situations differently compared to before the course. The programme changed my mindset and I am now considering soft tissue management before surgical planning for better treatment outcomes.”
